Dr Sabina Lawreniuk is a human geographer at the University of Nottingham studying the intersection of gender, health, and activism in the global fashion industry. Sabina now works on 3 feminist geopolitical projects covering: women’s safety, the gender impact of COVID-19, and repression in sweatshops. Throughout all these projects Sabina has maintained a strong area focus on one particular country: Cambodia. Today, we meet to discuss inequality and activism in the Cambodian garment sector – and specifically Sabina’s role as a co-investigator in the research project ReFashion.
