Grants

The Society awards a wide range of grants, some of which are open to applications from current undergraduate students. Whether you are seeking funding for an overseas fieldwork expedition or are looking to participate in an existing project, explore the range of possibilities on offer.

Placements

Why not come and join us at the home of geography? A placement at the Society outside of term time can be a rewarding experience and give you an insight into the breadth of activities taking place across the discipline, complementing your studies at university.

Collections

Including over 1,000,000 map sheets, 150,000 books and over 100 films, spanning a period of 500 years, the collections of the Society represent a significant repository of geographical knowledge. If items in our collections could help your studies, get in touch with our collections team or find out more.

Geography Ambassadors

The Geography Ambassador scheme is a great way to introduce school students to geography in an exciting and engaging way.

Being an Ambassador during your studies gives you the opportunity to be positive role model for pupils and illustrate – via a range of informative, interactive and enjoyable sessions – the transferable skills and interests you have developed as a geographer.
