Participatory Geographies Research Group - Thursday 15 February
The Participatory Geographies Research Group (PyGyRG) is inviting proposals for session sponsorship at the 2024 Royal Geographical Society Conference. Session sponsorship means that a session is branded in the conference programme with the Research Group’s name, and gives the opportunity to promote the session through our Research Group networks. It also allows for similar sessions to avoid clashes in the programming. Unfortunately, session sponsorship does not include financial sponsorship. However, sponsored sessions are eligible to apply for a range of passes (successful sessions will be contacted with further details).
Conference details:
Location: London
Dates: Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 August 2024
Conference chair: Professor Professor Stephen Legg (University of Nottingham, UK)
Conference Theme: Mapping
Sponsorship details:
We encourage innovative formats and invite proposals for session sponsorship that engages with the conference theme, as well as other aspects of participatory geography, in particular but not limited to:
- Participatory action research and cartographic approaches
- Mapping and co-production
- Creative mapping and participatory approaches from geohumanities
- Body and affective mapping involving intersectional participatory methods
- Resilience, Impact and participatory research
- Participatory mapping with communities, movements, organisations and institutions
- Participatory mapping using digital tools and practices (not limited to AI and machine learning)
PyGyRG is also able to offer guest passes (covering the registration fee for a day’s attendance at the conference, but not travel or accommodation). The application process for this will be announced through this mailing list, with preliminary details available now on the RGS-IBG website.
