Biography

Occupation: Principal Hydrologist Employer: Rivers & Coastal W S Atkins Memo: Marc is Principal Hydrologist for WS Atkins, a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy firm. Marc studied for a BA in Geography at Swansea University and an MSc in Environmental Water Management at Cranfield University. Following this, Marc was a Technician for the National Rivers Authority undertaking topographic surveys of flood defences and river channels in Gwynedd then worked as a Water Engineer for Shawcross Aid Programme in northern Guatemala designing and constructing gravity-fed water systems to supply drinking water to two remote villages. Marc then worked as a Hydrologist for the National Rivers Authority / Environment Agency working on flood forecasting and flood warning procedures. Since joining Atkins in 1997, Marc has worked in the Water and Environment team and Rivers and Coastal team, and currently specializes in river modelling and forecasting.
