Kate has extensive experience working in Antarctica for the Royal Navy delivering high quality bathymetric surveys to improve safety of navigation for vessels in the region and collaborating with international partners to deliver a range of scientific projects from penguin counts to monitoring glacial erosion.
She has an MSc in Geographical Information Systems and returned to the Antarctic Peninsula with the British Antarctic Survey during her PhD research which she continues at Bangor University.
Kate spends as much of her spare time as possible on skis and particularly enjoys polar ski travel having completed crossings of Hardangervidda, Svalbard and Greenland with Newland Expeditions.
