Joe is a young, aspiring conservationist with research interests in tropical biodiversity and human-wildlife conflict. He has recently completed his studies at UCL for a Master's in Conservation.
Joe has previously worked as a conservationist and researcher in Phinda Private Game Reserve, South Africa, where he oversaw Panthera's camera-trap survey of leopards and supported the reserve's anti-poaching efforts and cheetah conservation programme.
More recently, Joe co-organised a research expedition to the central Congo Basin peatlands to explore the interactions between humans, birds and plants in the region. The project was supported by an RGS Geographical Fieldwork Grant, and the Shara Dillon Award.
