Holly is a conservation biologist with a passion for remote places and understudied species.

Originally from Scotland, she has carried out fieldwork in Peru, Paraguay, Zimbabwe and Antarctica. Primarily, her work has been focused in the Peruvian Amazon where she has been working for eight years as a mammal researcher and expedition guide. This year Holly began a DPhil (PhD) in Biology at the University of Oxford’s Wildlife Conservation Unit (WildCRU), where she previously worked as a data assistant researching African carnivores. The objective of her DPhil research is to understand the recovery of mammalian biodiversity in landscapes impacted by gold mining in the Peruvian Amazon, with a special focus on jaguars, pumas and ocelots.
