Claire is an emergency medicine doctor with a passion for expedition and remote medicine.
She has provided medical support for expeditions in a variety of environments, but her heart lies in the polar regions. Claire is helping set up the Global Polar and Altitude Metabolic Research Registry at the Human Metabolic Research Unit and the University of Coventry. In 2019, she successfully crossed the Greenland Ice Cap. She has also been part of expeditions in the Trollheim Mountains of North West Svalbard, and has also crossed Finnmark and Hardanger Plateaus in Norway.
As well as working as a Ship’s Doctor in the Arctic, Claire was the Medical Officer for the Weddell Sea Expedition in Antarctica, which gathered scientific data and also searched Shackleton’s lost ship Endurance.
