Why choose a gap year?
Why go on a gap year?
Taking time out either before or after starting university is a unique opportunity that will enhance your knowledge and skills before you continue studies or go into work. If you are thinking of studying geography, a gap year can be a particularly enriching method of expanding your interests beyond your studies at school and shaping your perspective and attitudes towards the world as a whole.
What kind of gap year are you looking for?

These could include volunteer work, learning a new language or skill, working abroad or alternatively just taking a much needed break. Any of these would be highly beneficial, but if you are considering using your time away to add to your CV or more generally have a beneficial impact on the world, it would be advised to treat your gap year not just as a holiday.
