Organisation name
Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Fieldwork Apprenticeships
About
The Society's Fieldwork Apprenticeships offer £1,500 to enable students who would not otherwise have the opportunity, to participate in an overseas fieldwork project led by an academic member of staff at their university.
The award provides financial support to first or second year undergraduate students joining field research projects led by academic members of staff at their university. Spending a number of weeks learning from established researchers in the field aids personal development, building confidence, enthusiasm and inspiration that can be taken forward through the remainder of a student’s time at university and beyond into their careers. Students also gain geographical skills and knowledge, alongside valuable experience in field research planning, logistics and health and safety. Applicants should be studying at a UK university.
Please do share this opportunity widely with colleagues who are planning field research this year and may have capacity to host a student, and first and second year undergraduate students who are keen to grasp this fantastic opportunity to gain field research experience.
Applications are considered on an ongoing basis. Please apply as soon as possible, and before 1 May 2023 at the latest. More information and how to apply can be found on the Society's website.
