Africa & Asia Venture, also known as AV, is a not-for-profit social enterprise specialising in meaningful volunteering programmes in Africa and Asia. Established in 1993, over 5,500 volunteers from 30+ countries have since contributed the equivalent of more than 1,200 years of service to the communities in which they operate.
AV claim to offer a unique experience of group-based full-immersion programmes in rural communities, where volunteers live with local people the way the they live, and after which volunteers have a period of independent travel time to go wherever they wish, all supported by dedicated, 24/7, in-country management teams. AV's vision is to create volunteer opportunities to live and work in the developing world, to have an ‘experience for life’ and to promote global citizenship.
