Join us for a special performance of the one-man play Shackleton's Carpenter. This will be part of the biennial conference of the Sir Ernest H Shackleton Appreciation Society which will be held at the Society this May marking 150 years since Shackleton’s birth.
Come and indulge in a celebration of the life and work of ‘The Boss’ and the men from the Heroic Age of Antarctic exploration.
Friday evening is free to those attending the conference weekend.
Programme
6.00pm - Welcome and introduction: Stephen Scott-Fawcett
6.15pm - Opening of the Johnny Midnight ‘Shackleton Collection’ of oil paintings. There will be a talk by the artist.
7.00pm Malcolm Rennie in a special performance of his acclaimed one-man play Shackleton’s Carpenter. Destitute in New Zealand, Chippy McNish, the only man to challenge ‘the Boss’, confronts the ghosts of his old shipmates from the Endurance including Shackleton himself.
Making a booking
There are three individual events available to book. Please note that you do not need to book for Friday as this comes as part of the price for Saturday and/or Sunday.

- Once you have added all the events that you require to your cart, you can ‘proceed to checkout’ and pay.
