This CPD event is for teachers with little or no previous GIS experience and includes:

  • an overview of GIS pedagogy

  • using ArcGIS as a geography visualiser

  • adding data and making your own maps in 2D and 3D

  • StoryMaps for classroom use

There will be an extended lunchtime, with some optional self-study activities provided.

We are planning to provide a very simple sandwich lunch. We may not be able to consider dietary requirements if they are not provided at least a week before the event, so if you are booking late and have special dietary requirements, please contact events@rgs.org to investigate options. Tea, coffee and water will be provided at the start of the day.

We may finish a little earlier than the published finish time and we do understand if you have to leave before 4.00pm. The final 30-45 minutes will, therefore, be an opportunity to ask questions and explore ideas further, rather than covering new content.
