We ask our panel of geographers to discuss the role of geography as as we recover from the pandemic.

 

 

Our speakers

Dr Vicky Johnson leads the economics line of study across a range of geography modules in relation to the environment at The Open University. Recently Vicky's research has focused on Covid impacts upon the environment.

Dr Oli Mould is a Lecturer in Human Geography at Royal Holloway, University of London. Oli's research focuses on the role of urban creativity, activism and politics.

Dr Dianna Smith is a Lecturer in GIS and health geography at the University of Southampton. Dianna uses using GIS to visualise data collected or collated to address key social and spatial inequalities.

Dr Jonathan Reades is Associate Professor in Spatial Data Science at UCL. Jonathan's research draws on academic theory and quantitative social science methods to address contemporary challenges in urban and regional development. Jonathan is the co-author of Why Face-to-Face Still Matters.

The Society aims to provide automatically-generated captions for all event recordings. The captions appear as text at the bottom of the video which you can toggle on and off. The accuracy of automatically-generated captions varies depending on the audio quality, any specialist language used and the speaker. They are therefore are unlikely to be 100% accurate and the Society does not edit or correct automatically-generated captions.
