Meet our speakers
Helen Rowe is an award-winning social researcher, a writer and campaigner. Her expertise in the social housing sector includes leading campaigns on literacy and digital inclusion and as the co-founder of the Connected Housing Initiative, which worked to improve internet access for low-income residents.
Dr Kitty Stewart is Associate Professor of Social Policy and Associate Director of the Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion (CASE) at the London School of Economics. Kitty’s recent research focuses primarily on the causes and consequences of child poverty, the relationship between income and wider outcomes, and policy for young children.
Professor Vandana Desai is Professor in Human Geography at Royal Holloway. Vandana is a development geographer primarily interested in urban India, the poor, NGOs and policymakers, with specialism in improving access to housing, challenging urban and gender politics and exploring issues surrounding inequality and social justice.
