The Society is a flexible and adaptable venue that has been the backdrop to an array of occasions, from VIP brand events, to fairs and festivals, to other special social occasions. Large scale events

Leading out from the Map Room and Education Centre doors, the Society’s terrace area is the perfect space to erect a marquee for large-scale events. The venue’s reputable and high-quality supplier has created a bespoke marquee for our terrace that maximises space and provides a seamless covered room for events. The London Map Fair is the oldest and largest specialist event of its kind, with over 40 leading international map dealers selling original antique maps and atlases to collectors and curators from all over the world. Since 2008 we have held it at the Royal Geographical Society every June, and we believe we have found a perfect match. The historic venue, with its portraits of famous explorers, is perfect for our event, and the staff are unfailingly friendly and supportive.
