The first two episodes of a new podcast series, Explore: how to plan an expedition, which focuses on how to plan an expedition or field research project, are now available.
Commissioned by the Society, produced by The Adventure Podcast and hosted by filmmaker and photographer Matt Pycroft, the series provides an introduction to expedition planning and shares insights into how to get involved in the worlds of exploration and field research. Each of the 10 episodes features stimulating conversations with experienced voices and those who’ve recently returned from the field.
Episode one focuses on how to design a successful field research project. In this episode, Matt speaks with conservation biologist Dr James Borrell and Professor of Human Geography Katie Willis about how to plan field research, their own experiences of getting into the world of field science, and what makes a good fieldwork project. Informative, educational and entertaining, we hope the series will inspire audiences to undertake their own expeditions.
You can listen to the first two episodes now on Apple Podcasts or by searching for ‘The Adventure Podcast’ wherever you get your podcasts. New episodes in the series will be released fortnightly.
