New exhibition of sustainable, thought-provoking fashion on display at the Society

A new exhibition of garments by sustainable, couture fashion label Tammam in collaboration with the European Space Agency, highlighting areas of the planet most vulnerable to climate change, will be on display in the Director’s Gallery from Wednesday 14 February. 

The exhibition presents a unique collection of ready-to-wear scarves and hand-crafted gowns featuring prints of stunning images of Earth from space provided by the European Space Agency. The prints selected feature areas of the planet most affected by climate change, including the Amazon River, Western Australia’s Wheatbelt, the Bering Strait, the Tibetan Plateau, Sudan, and Lake Powell.

Founded in 2007, Bloomsbury-based Tammam has been leading the way in creating bespoke, high-impact, one-of-a-kind luxury garments and accessories, with a commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

Society Fellows and Members can visit the exhibition for free on weekdays between 10.00am and 5.00pm until Wednesday 24 April.

Guided tours of the exhibition with curator and Tammam creative director Lucy Tammam, providing a fascinating insight into the design and creation of this unique collection, will take place on Tuesday 20 February, Friday 8 March, Tuesday 26 March and Friday 19 April.
